SnapSeal Coming soon

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 August 2026

SnapSeal has not launched yet. This policy describes how the product handles data as built, and takes effect for anyone using the extension or web app from launch onward.

Who we are

SnapSeal builds a browser extension and web application for capturing, editing, comparing, and sharing screenshots and files. You can reach us at any time at contact@snapseal.app.

Local-first by default

Screenshot capture, annotation, comparison, and local history all run inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded because you took a screenshot. Content leaves your device only when you deliberately create a share or upload a file.

What we store when you share

  • Shared content. The screenshot or file you chose to share, plus its size, creation time, and expiry time.
  • Protected shares. Password-protected content is encrypted in your browser before upload and decrypted in the viewer after the correct password is entered. We store the encrypted result.
  • Revisions. If you enable viewer editing with saved revisions, each revision is stored as a separate asset and the original share is kept unchanged.
  • Account data. If you sign in, your email address and plan status, so paid features can be applied consistently across the website, API, and extension.

Retention

Shares expire automatically. Free public shares are kept for 24 hours. Paid protected shares and their revisions are kept for up to 30 days. You can delete any share yourself before it expires. Expired content is removed by a scheduled cleanup job.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe, which receives the billing details needed to complete your purchase. Where cryptocurrency payment (USDT on TRC20) is offered, we record the order and the on-chain transaction reference. We never receive or store your full card details.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not inspect the contents of your shares for any purpose beyond operating the service and responding to abuse reports or legal obligations.

Your choices

You can delete individual shares at any time from your share history, and you can request deletion of your account and any remaining stored content by contacting contact@snapseal.app.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
