Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 August 2026

SnapSeal has not launched yet. These terms describe the agreement that applies once the extension and web app are publicly available.

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and SnapSeal. They cover snapseal.app, the SnapSeal browser extension, the web application, and the API and support that go with them. By installing the extension, using the web app, or buying a subscription, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What the service does

SnapSeal captures screenshots in your browser, lets you annotate and compare them locally, and lets you publish share links. Capture, editing, comparison, and local history run on your device. Hosted sharing is optional and only happens when you create a share.

3. Free and paid plans

The free plan covers capture, local editing, comparison, and public screenshot links that expire after 24 hours. The paid plan adds password-protected shares, browser-side encryption, non-image file sharing, optional viewer editing with saved revisions, and 30-day retention. Each plan has documented limits on upload size, monthly share count, monthly upload volume, and active storage; those limits are enforced in the product and are published on our site.

4. Subscriptions and payment

Paid access is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription processed by Stripe, and renews until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your subscription page; cancellation stops future renewals and paid features remain available until the end of the period you already paid for. Where cryptocurrency payment is offered, confirmed blockchain transfers are generally final because they cannot be reversed.

5. Your content

You keep all rights to what you capture, upload, and share. You grant us only the limited rights needed to store and deliver a share you created, for as long as that share exists. You are responsible for what you capture and share, including having the right to share it and complying with privacy and confidentiality obligations that apply to you.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use SnapSeal to share unlawful material, to infringe someone else's rights, to distribute malware, to host content you have no right to distribute, or to work around plan limits, access controls, or abuse protections. We may remove shares and suspend accounts for a material or repeated breach, for fraud, or where required by law.

7. Retention and deletion

Shares expire automatically — 24 hours for free public shares, up to 30 days for paid protected shares and revisions — and are then deleted by a scheduled cleanup job. You can delete a share yourself at any time before it expires. Do not treat SnapSeal as a backup service: keep your own copy of anything you need to retain.

8. Passwords on protected shares

Protected content is encrypted in your browser using the password you set, and decrypted in the viewer when that password is entered. Because the encryption happens on your device, we cannot recover the content if you lose the password. Choose and share passwords carefully.

9. Availability and changes

We may update, change, or discontinue features for security, legal, technical, or third-party compatibility reasons. Browsers, extension stores, and payment providers can change their rules or availability without notice, which may temporarily degrade parts of the service. We will make reasonable efforts to restore documented functionality but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.

10. Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", and our total liability relating to a paid subscription will not exceed the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or consumer rights you have by law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised date, and will not retroactively change the payment terms of a purchase you already completed.
