Capture it, mark it up, compare it, share it.

SnapSeal is a browser extension and web app for turning what is on your screen into clear, shareable evidence — full-page captures, annotations, before-and-after comparisons, and share links with the privacy level you choose.

What it does

A screenshot workflow, not just a capture button

Most screenshot tools stop at the capture. SnapSeal covers the whole job: take the shot, mark up exactly what matters, compare it against an earlier version, then hand it to someone through a link that expires or asks for a password.

Captures and edits stay on your device until you deliberately create a share. Nothing is uploaded just because you took a screenshot.

Capture

Five capture modes, straight from the browser toolbar:

  • Full scrolling page
  • Visible tab
  • A selected element
  • Manual crop
  • Desktop or screen

Annotate locally

Edit before anything leaves your machine:

  • Text, arrows, and shapes
  • Brush drawing
  • Redaction for anything sensitive
  • Crop, undo and redo
  • Copy or download

Compare versions

Put two screenshots against each other as an overlay, side by side, or as a diff-style review — for QA, UI review, bug reports, and before-and-after checks.

Local history

Recent captures stay on the device, so you can reopen, edit, compare, download, or share them later without pushing every screenshot into hosted storage.

Share with a link

Public screenshot links open in a clean viewer with zoom, pan, copy, and download. No account needed for the person you send it to.

Protected sharing

Password-protected shares are encrypted in the browser before upload and decrypted in the viewer after the right password is entered — for screenshots and for files like PDFs, ZIPs, CSVs, and text.

Plans

Free to capture and share. Paid for protection and longer retention.

The limits below are the ones the product enforces. Pricing will be published when SnapSeal launches.

Privacy

Local until you decide otherwise

Captures and editing happen entirely in your browser. Content is only uploaded when you create a share, and even then you choose how exposed it is: a public link that expires in 24 hours, or a password-protected share that is encrypted in your browser before it ever reaches the server.

Shares expire on their own — 24 hours for free public links, 30 days for paid protected shares and their revisions. When revisions are enabled, the original stays immutable and each revision is stored as a separate asset.

Status

Not launched yet

SnapSeal is in final development. The extension and web app are built; what remains is store review and the public launch. If you want to hear when it opens up — or you have a use case you want covered — write to contact@snapseal.app.
